Obama vs. Romney

I know, I know, you're all sick of hearing about the election so this is my last post about it, I promise! Because let's be honest, every time I hear it brought up, I want to gag and throw up! BUT President Obama has been re-elected and will be the President of the United States for the next four years. Yes, I am sketchy about this and no, I don't agree with him or some of his policies. BUT he is the President and I will respect him because of that. He won the election which means that more people in the US believe that he is better suited than someone else.

But regardless of who is President of the United States, God is the King of all. He knew the outcome of the election before we even started voting. He has some divine plan for us and he needed President Obama in office for another term to fulfill his plan. There is nothing we can do now to change the results of the voting, but it's our responsibility now to pray that our President has the strength and courage to do what's best for this country and it's people!

God be with us and President Obama... Please.... :)

Bucket List Update #4

Hey kids!!

I crossed off another thing on my bucket list! I fell asleep during a movie!! Check me the freak out! Ok, I know that might seem like an odd thing to want to accomplish, but it's almost impossible for me to fall asleep while a movie or tv show is playing. I just get too caught up in the movie and watching it and don't think about sleeping. But on the 19th of September, at approximately 2:00 in the morning, I was watching a movie called Courageous with my roommates Shandee and Emi and Jon Maughan and I fell asleep! I woke up when the movie was almost over and I got super excited! :)

Thought I would just let you all know real quick!

Round Two... Don't Mind If I Do

Welp Folks.... here I am again. Back up at Utah State, back to blogging on a weekly basis... it's gonna be great! First, let me tell you why I haven't blogged about anything interesting in a really long time. It's because my life is SUPER boring during the summer. I worked two jobs, slept for 8 hours and would get up and do it all again the next day, nothing to blog about at all! But now that I am back at school, there is definitely adventures that are bound to be had!

Before I moved up to school I did a Cafe Rio run with Kyle and Chelle! It's been forever since I had been there and it was delicious as always! Great food with wonderful friends! Love them dearly :)

Also before I left for USU, my dearest cousin Caleb had his farewell talk and lunch, which my whole family went to. He is leaving in two days for the MTC and he will be serving in the Vancouver, Canada mission! I am SO thrilled for him! Can't wait to finally have a family member on a mission to write!!

I'll miss him like crazy... but he's going to be one amazing missionary!! :)

This year at Utah State, I am rooming with Marlee Kate Matta! I met her last year when she lived just down the hall from me and we have been friends since. Coincidentally we were put in the same apartment in the same room.... crazy, right?! But she is spiritual and wonderful and I love her to pieces! My other roommates are Emi and Kate, who were friends with Marlee before moving up, Shandee girl who I knew of before moving up here and Erin :) We've had loads of fun so far!

For FHE on Monday with the new ward, we had hogie sandwiches on the Quad and just got to get to know the ward, bishop and his counselors a little better. Marlee introduced us to her friend Parker, who is rooming with her brother Eric. He is over at the apartment all the time now, which is great, because he's a doll and is really funny! Kate's friend Mikey has also been over to the apartment frequently. He too is a blast to have around!

On Wednesday our ward went to the open house for the Brigham City temple. We walked through it with the boys from across the hall, Brad, Logan and Max. It was seriously SO beautiful! I can't wait to be married in one one day!
Shand, Mar, Me and Kate

Standing in front of the COOLEST mosaic! Loved it!

It's only been a week of school and already the roommates and I have shared TONS of laughs and met LOADS of new people. I LOVED Snow Hall last year more than anything and the adjustment has been really hard. I have set unrealistic expectations which in the end will end up disappointing me if I don't change my view. Yes it's hard, but it's gonna take some time to get used to new places and new faces. I love my Snow friends, but I am looking forward to loving my Pine View ones just as much!

Also, one final note.... ELDER NIELSON IS HOME!! I LOOOOOOOOVE when friends start coming home from missions! It's the best :)

Bucket List Update 3... Kinda

Purchase my own car... that's what's on my bucket list. This was kind of accomplished, kind of not. I didn't purchase it myself, but I am the proud new owner of a Forest Green 2000 Ford Taurus SE :) With only 4,200 miles on it!! Yes, my dad is the best at finding amazing deals!!

Now I gotta figure out a name for him...? Her...? Should probably decide the gender too! :)

Sick With Disgust

Today.... My stomach and my heart hurt with disgust! I got on FB and MSN News when I got back from spending the day out with the family and see story after story about messed up people in the world today. I saw three stories about children under the age of 14 getting plastic surgery done on them because they were so brutally bullied. I saw a bus supervisor in Greece reduced to tears because of what the kids on the bus were calling her and yelling at her. I saw a 6 month old baby being beaten by it's OWN MOTHER! I watched the first two seconds of the video, went straight into the bathroom and proceeded to vomit from what I had seen.

It's been said time and time again that "We are the chosen generation of people" We were the ones who were saved for these times because we are stronger than the rest and our strength would be needed now more than ever to defeat the adversary. Quite frankly, I don't know why I was saved for this time! I look around and see nothing but a world full of violence, hatred, discrimination, crime, selfishness, disrespect and greed. There are very few things in this world that are pure and lovely and wonderful to have around! I am so thankful for a loving family, amazing friends and the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life today. With everything that is going on around me, I know that I have those three things to fall back on to keep me safe and protected from Satan's evil grasp, because let's face it, he's doing an INCREDIBLE job at corrupting this Earth and it's inhabitants!

As it says in Helaman 5:12
"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it us upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whilrwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

Luckily, all those people that I mentioned earlier; the bullies, the abusers, the teasers, the criminals, and the liars, will all be judged based on their own actions and how they lived their life. They will be judged according to their works and their faith and how many souls they brought unto Christ. I don't know about you guys, but I definitely would be SO ASHAMED of myself, that I wouldn't even be able to stand in the presence of my Heavenly Father and my brother Jesus, knowing that I had done those tings to his children and my fellow brothers/sisters. It just breaks my heart and I pray for all those I love that they can stay strong in these last days so we can all be welcomed into the celestial kingdom with loving, open arms! :)

Until Next Time, "My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous."

2012 London Olympics!

I just can't explain how much I love to watch the Olympics! I honestly get goose bumps every time a commercial is shown, someone wins a medal or a background story is told! It just amazes me how no matter what conflicts are going on in the world, for a few short weeks, everyone puts all of that beside them and comes together as one United world to compete with the best of the best!

Until Next Time, "And I want a gold medal more than anything. I just want a gold medal, so that's been pushing me forward."

.... And They Call The Thing Rodeo

I cannot put into words how much I love the rodeo! I love horses, wranglers, hats, cowboys and all that good stuff! I was at our Pony Palace tonight with some friends and every time a cowboy walked past, a little comment about how attractive he was would always slip from my lips. I honestly don't know what it is about the whole thing but I just LOVE it! I could see myself being a rodeo wife/mom for the rest of my life and loving every minute of it! So below is the lyrics to Garth Brooks's song called RODEO and I absolutely love it! I couldn't find a good enough link to post it so if you want to hear it, go to iTunes or something!

His eyes are cold and restless
His wounds have almost healed
And she'd give half of Texas
Just to change the way he feels
Well she knows his love's in Tulsa
And she knows he's gonna go
Well, it ain't no woman, in flesh and blood
It's that damned old rodeo.

(chorus)
Well, it's bulls and blood
It's dust and mud
It's the roar of a Sunday crowd
It's the white in his knuckles
The gold in the buckle
He'll win the next go 'round
It's boots and chaps
It's cowboy hats
It's spurs and lattigo
It's the ropes and the reins
And the joy and the pain
And they call the thing rodeo.

She does her best to hold him
When his love comes to call
But his need for it controls a man
And her back's against the wall
And it's "So long girl, I'll see ya."
When it's time for him to go
You know the woman wants her cowboy
Like he wants his rodeo

Chorus

It'll drive a cowboy crazy
It'll drive the man insane
And he'll sell off everything he owns
Just to pay to play the game
And a broken home and some broken bones
Is all he'll have to show
For all the years that he spent chasin'
This dream they call rodeo.

Chorus

It's the broncs and the blood
It's the steers and the mud
And they call the thing rodeo

And honestly... who wouldn't want to be lovin' on one of these everyday?!

Seriously, I'm gonna get me one of these cowboys!!

Umm... future engagement picture?!.... I think YES!!

Until Next Time, "Life is too short to not ride your best horse first!."

I also appreciate your super funny and random texts! Like the one about dropping Paul off at Wonka's chocolate factory... and many others! :)

204 GIRLS:
PLAY SOME MORE IN 204!!!! You girls were seriously some of my best friends this year! KELSIE BIRD: You probably don't know this, but you inspired me to start reading my scriptures everyday and I have a goal to read the entire BOM for the first time. I would see you read them every night without fail and that inspiration has been passed on to me! Thanks for all the yummy treats that you have brought down over the months!! I'm gonna miss you girl! RACH HOLLAND: Umm... where do I begin?! Maybe at the beginning of the year when neither of us liked each other...?? haha wow! But I love you so stinkin' much! I am SO glad that we found out that we have class together and became friends! You honestly became one of my best friends up here! I love you so much and I am going to miss you like crazy! Marlee Matta: You have one of the happiest personalities that I have ever known in a person! Whenever I've been to your apartment you're always just so friendly to everyone! I'm glad we got to hang out and do a few things together this year! You're so great Mar! Kait Boman & Taylor Stuart: I have to put the two of you together because that's the way it flows. The only time I have seen one of you without the other is in Creative Arts when Tay was there and Kait wasn't. You both are seriously a party! You know how to make me laugh until my stomach hurts! We've had some fun adventures! From 4 cousins, jumping off a tree into freezing water, getting scared out of our minds, watching movies and so much more. I love you girls so much and will miss you like crazy as well!

DAVE STRIDER SMITH: I probably should have put you at the very top because chances are, you're done reading this by now!! Let me start off by saying how much I love you kid! I am SO grateful that you and Kody decided to stop and say hi on your way back to your apartment that first week of school! We became instant friends and I have loved every minute of it! I love when you randomly walk into my apartment because seeing you just makes my day happier! I loved having biology with you because I knew I got to see you every other day (until you decided to sit with your pledge brother and ditch me and Elli... punk!) I look up to you like you're my big brother! I have loved all of our talks and all the rides we took in your MONSTER of a truck at the beginning of the year! Sure, we've had our "arguments" about things... mainly 1 if you know what I'm talking about but I love you regardless. I will miss you like crazy over the summer. I sincerely hope that you come back to USU next year but I understand that you have to do what's best for you! Regardless of what happens, you've influenced a huge part of my life, even if it's only been a few months of knowing you! I love you Dave!

And last, but certainly not least.... MY ROOMMATES!!!! I lucked out this year and got amazing roommates!! Lauren and Tanna- you're both beautiful and can make me laugh so hard! I appreciate all of our talks about missionaries and boys and well you know, the usual girl stuff! I hope you have a BLAST living together again next year! MARISSA CAMPBELL: I freaking love you!! As you know, we all did a little preliminary judging before any of us knew each other. I was sketchy about you but you have proven me wrong! I love that we can laugh about anything and everything! I love all the new vocabulary words you have introduced me too and all your sassiness. I have loved listening to all your boy problems and hearing about what's been going on between the Sig's and Alpha Chi! I love sitting in yours and Em's room just talking about everything. You are so beautiful and I am going to miss you like crazy girl! I wish you all the best! Who knows..... maybe I will rush Alpha Chi and we can be sorority sisters one day?? Love you girl!!
EMILY BROWN: Oh Em... where do I start with you? I LOVE YOU!! We instantly bonded from the very beginning of the year and I couldn't be happier about it! I love dealing with all your "Vegas Girl" and "Short Girl" problems because most of the time, they cracked me up! Having to reach the toilet paper for you became a common occurrence in our apartment! I am SO glad that I didn't have to suffer through Ballam's class alone! Thankfully, I had you, Cait and Tay with me! We've been through a lot of laughs, a lot of tears and some sickness here and there but I wouldn't trade any of it! I don't know what I'm going to do this Summer without you and Marissa living my house with me, it's going to be the weirdest thing to me!! Have fun this Summer in the Vegas heat and I will most definitely be seeing you next year... or else!! :) LOVE YOU baby girl!! :)

In closing, I just want to say GOOD LUCK to all of our amazing missionaries that will be leaving this summer! You all will do SO great and I can't wait to hear all about your adventures! :)
