Obama vs. Romney

I know, I know, you're all sick of hearing about the election so this is my last post about it, I promise! Because let's be honest, every time I hear it brought up, I want to gag and throw up! BUT President Obama has been re-elected and will be the President of the United States for the next four years. Yes, I am sketchy about this and no, I don't agree with him or some of his policies. BUT he is the President and I will respect him because of that. He won the election which means that more people in the US believe that he is better suited than someone else.

But regardless of who is President of the United States, God is the King of all. He knew the outcome of the election before we even started voting. He has some divine plan for us and he needed President Obama in office for another term to fulfill his plan. There is nothing we can do now to change the results of the voting, but it's our responsibility now to pray that our President has the strength and courage to do what's best for this country and it's people!

God be with us and President Obama... Please.... :)

Bucket List Update #4

Hey kids!!

I crossed off another thing on my bucket list! I fell asleep during a movie!! Check me the freak out! Ok, I know that might seem like an odd thing to want to accomplish, but it's almost impossible for me to fall asleep while a movie or tv show is playing. I just get too caught up in the movie and watching it and don't think about sleeping. But on the 19th of September, at approximately 2:00 in the morning, I was watching a movie called Courageous with my roommates Shandee and Emi and Jon Maughan and I fell asleep! I woke up when the movie was almost over and I got super excited! :)

Thought I would just let you all know real quick!

Round Two... Don't Mind If I Do

Welp Folks.... here I am again. Back up at Utah State, back to blogging on a weekly basis... it's gonna be great! First, let me tell you why I haven't blogged about anything interesting in a really long time. It's because my life is SUPER boring during the summer. I worked two jobs, slept for 8 hours and would get up and do it all again the next day, nothing to blog about at all! But now that I am back at school, there is definitely adventures that are bound to be had!

Before I moved up to school I did a Cafe Rio run with Kyle and Chelle! It's been forever since I had been there and it was delicious as always! Great food with wonderful friends! Love them dearly :)

Also before I left for USU, my dearest cousin Caleb had his farewell talk and lunch, which my whole family went to. He is leaving in two days for the MTC and he will be serving in the Vancouver, Canada mission! I am SO thrilled for him! Can't wait to finally have a family member on a mission to write!!

I'll miss him like crazy... but he's going to be one amazing missionary!! :)

This year at Utah State, I am rooming with Marlee Kate Matta! I met her last year when she lived just down the hall from me and we have been friends since. Coincidentally we were put in the same apartment in the same room.... crazy, right?! But she is spiritual and wonderful and I love her to pieces! My other roommates are Emi and Kate, who were friends with Marlee before moving up, Shandee girl who I knew of before moving up here and Erin :) We've had loads of fun so far!

For FHE on Monday with the new ward, we had hogie sandwiches on the Quad and just got to get to know the ward, bishop and his counselors a little better. Marlee introduced us to her friend Parker, who is rooming with her brother Eric. He is over at the apartment all the time now, which is great, because he's a doll and is really funny! Kate's friend Mikey has also been over to the apartment frequently. He too is a blast to have around!

On Wednesday our ward went to the open house for the Brigham City temple. We walked through it with the boys from across the hall, Brad, Logan and Max. It was seriously SO beautiful! I can't wait to be married in one one day!
Shand, Mar, Me and Kate

Standing in front of the COOLEST mosaic! Loved it!

It's only been a week of school and already the roommates and I have shared TONS of laughs and met LOADS of new people. I LOVED Snow Hall last year more than anything and the adjustment has been really hard. I have set unrealistic expectations which in the end will end up disappointing me if I don't change my view. Yes it's hard, but it's gonna take some time to get used to new places and new faces. I love my Snow friends, but I am looking forward to loving my Pine View ones just as much!

Also, one final note.... ELDER NIELSON IS HOME!! I LOOOOOOOOVE when friends start coming home from missions! It's the best :)

Bucket List Update 3... Kinda

Purchase my own car... that's what's on my bucket list. This was kind of accomplished, kind of not. I didn't purchase it myself, but I am the proud new owner of a Forest Green 2000 Ford Taurus SE :) With only 4,200 miles on it!! Yes, my dad is the best at finding amazing deals!!

Now I gotta figure out a name for him...? Her...? Should probably decide the gender too! :)

Sick With Disgust

Today.... My stomach and my heart hurt with disgust! I got on FB and MSN News when I got back from spending the day out with the family and see story after story about messed up people in the world today. I saw three stories about children under the age of 14 getting plastic surgery done on them because they were so brutally bullied. I saw a bus supervisor in Greece reduced to tears because of what the kids on the bus were calling her and yelling at her. I saw a 6 month old baby being beaten by it's OWN MOTHER! I watched the first two seconds of the video, went straight into the bathroom and proceeded to vomit from what I had seen.

It's been said time and time again that "We are the chosen generation of people" We were the ones who were saved for these times because we are stronger than the rest and our strength would be needed now more than ever to defeat the adversary. Quite frankly, I don't know why I was saved for this time! I look around and see nothing but a world full of violence, hatred, discrimination, crime, selfishness, disrespect and greed. There are very few things in this world that are pure and lovely and wonderful to have around! I am so thankful for a loving family, amazing friends and the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life today. With everything that is going on around me, I know that I have those three things to fall back on to keep me safe and protected from Satan's evil grasp, because let's face it, he's doing an INCREDIBLE job at corrupting this Earth and it's inhabitants!

As it says in Helaman 5:12
"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it us upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whilrwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

Luckily, all those people that I mentioned earlier; the bullies, the abusers, the teasers, the criminals, and the liars, will all be judged based on their own actions and how they lived their life. They will be judged according to their works and their faith and how many souls they brought unto Christ. I don't know about you guys, but I definitely would be SO ASHAMED of myself, that I wouldn't even be able to stand in the presence of my Heavenly Father and my brother Jesus, knowing that I had done those tings to his children and my fellow brothers/sisters. It just breaks my heart and I pray for all those I love that they can stay strong in these last days so we can all be welcomed into the celestial kingdom with loving, open arms! :)

Until Next Time, "My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous."
